Actually, it's a bit more than that. Could it mean that RATP, the Parisian public transport operation (effectively TfP),
is withdrawing from London altogether? It was making a hefty loss (accumulated losses of £63.8m), and was looking to
sell. I dare say First has got quite a bargain!

Of course, this is another instance (as with Abellio, Arriva and MTU) where a foreign public transport operator has
ended up subsidising UK public transport.

Have RATP got any other operation in the UK?
They ran Bournemouths Yellow buses the direct descendant of Bournemouth
Corporation going right back to tramway days.
They pulled out in 2019 and sold the operation to their former managers for
an disclosed sum,
the new operation never really got over the purchase cost and further
losses from the unforeseen effects of Covid made the situation worse and
the company entered administration in August, just after they had
celebrated 120 years of operation. No one bought the bus operation so the
distinctive Yellow livery of buses in Bournemouth has disappeared .

The only one I can find is Tootbus (open top sightseeing double deckers) in
Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and London.

The ridiculous continued over the top panic by politicians and various high
profile neurotics during covid when it became clear the virus wasn't dangerous
to 99% of the population still has a lot to answer for for whats happened to
a lot of companies and our economy in general.
